Success Stories:

At about 12:30 in the morning, we headed to downtown Indy to walk around the city and feed the homeless. This was also a first time experience for me that radically changed the way I see people who are in need. A man named Ray was sitting on the sidewalk and we went up to him to see if he needed anything to eat. He enthusiastically replied with a grateful "Yes!' and quickly took the bag of food. We asked him if he wanted a New Testament and if he needed prayer. I got to pray for him that God would heal his shoulder and that he would trust in God despite the pain. After I prayed, we offered him a pair of socks. Again he enthusiastically replied with a grateful "Yes!" because he had no socks of his own. Then my dad offered if we could put the socks on his feet because he could not move his shoulder. He said that would be great if we could, so with one sock in my dad's hand, and the other in my hand, we got to clothe him who had no clothes."(Matthew 25:36;38;40)

As I went to bed that night, I realized that tonight those men and women out on the streets did not have a warm, comfortable bed to sleep on. Most of them had barely some cardboard to sleep on and a coat to lay their head on. We must not neglect to thank to God for all of the many blessing he has lavished on us. And we must NEVER forget to not just see the need, but meet the need with love, tenderness, and compassion; like Jesus did.
